David Baker
David Baker was born in 1986 in Ivory Coast, Africa, where he learned french as a first language alongside English. Throughout his early childhood and into his later years his family moved back and forth between the United States and Niger, West Africa. His parents, both missionaries from the US, have been actively involved in both rural (the desert) and city based ministries in three African countries. Throughout his many experiences and adventures David grew to appreciate the variety and uniqeness in other cultures. In his highschool years, David was not particularly interested in music, but eventually gravitated towards more edgy and hardcore rock and rap. When he discovered dance music, he was instantly hooked by upbeat and powerful nature of the music.
Once he graduated from highschool, he attended John Brown University, a private liberal arts college in Arkansas, in pursuit of a Mechanical Engineering degree. After one year in his major, he decided that he needed to switch to field that would be more condusive to his creative nature, so he changed his major to Graphic Design. At this time David became very interested in the mechanics and structure of modern dance and progressive electronic music. As his knowledge grew and his understanding of the vast number of genres deepened, he decided that he wanted to begin composing electronic music.
For the past three years David has been composing, writing, mixing, mastering and editing music. His drive for success in the electronic music scene has been eclipsed only by the number of hours he has spent learning and experimenting in electronic music production.
"My greatest joy is when I feel I have created an original track that inspires, and when people tell me they like what I love to do. My greatest loves are my faith, my wife, Anna, my music, and art."
